In the United States, over half a million people experience homelessness. These individuals live in a temporary shelter or ESFSG or sleep in a place not meant for habitation (like an abandoned building). According to the National Health Care for the Homeless Council, Homeless people are six times more likely to become ill than housed people.
Exousia Safe Families Shelter of Georgia is established to address the multifaceted issues of homeless families within Georgia by empowering and restoring homeless families to self-sufficiency. The idea behind Exousia Safe Families Shelter of Georgia came in response to the ever-increasing number of homeless families in Georgia. It is a travesty to see a community of otherwise peaceful people with nowhere else to be kicked off unused publicly owned land because they do not have the legal rights to build a community upon it.
